Privacy Policy

Anchor Alarm Pro ("the app") is an anchor watch for boaters. This policy explains what data the app handles and why. We keep it short because the app collects very little - and never to track you.

No account, no personal profile

The app has no login. Devices are linked by an anonymous, randomly generated "share code". We do not collect your name, email address, or any other personal identity information.

Location data

The app needs your device's GPS location to do its one job: monitor your anchored position and alarm if your boat drags. Location is used only for this function. With your permission it is collected in the background so the alarm still works while the app is not on screen. If you link a second device with your share code, your position is shared with that device (e.g. another phone watching the boat from shore) through our cloud database so it can show the boat and receive the same drag alarm.

What we store, and for how long

• Current position, anchor position and a short track - stored under your anonymous share code so linked devices stay in sync. The track is automatically trimmed to roughly the last 24 hours.
• A device identifier (Apple's "identifier for vendor") - used to tell linked devices apart and to route push notifications. It is not used for advertising or cross-app tracking.
• A push notification token - so a monitoring device can receive the drag alarm when its app is in the background.

Clearing the watch, switching to a new share code, or deleting the app removes this data from the device, and the synced data expires or can be cleared on request.

Service providers

Data sync, the cloud database, and push notifications are provided by Google Firebase (Realtime Database and Firebase Cloud Messaging). Data is encrypted in transit. See Google's privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy.

No tracking or advertising

We do not sell your data, we do not use it for advertising, and we do not track you across other apps or websites.

Children

The app is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect data from them.
